Virginia B. Balon, 73, Cafeteria Worker In Danbury School System

GORHAM, N.H. - Virginia B. Balon of Gorham died Wednesday, Oct. 22. She was 73.

Balon was born April 1, 191, in Pennsylvania, to Walter and Helen Wywada and was raised there. After her marriage, she moved to Connecticut and had resided there for many years prior to moving to Gorham in 2004. She had been employed by the Danbury school system as a cafeteria worker. She was a member of Holy Family Church, the Red Hat Society of Gorham and Berlin and was active with The Gorham Seniors.

Balon is survived by her husband, Bernard Balon of Gorham; daughter, Christine Kokinchak (Mark) of Southbury, Conn.; son, Robert Balon (Roberta) of Gorham; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and sister, Sylvia Kalinski.

Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 24 at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24 at Holy Family Church in Gorham. Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery.
