18-Year-Old Hit In Head Dies After Shooting Outside Bridgeport Apartments

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — An 18-year-old who was hit in the head in a shooting Saturday outside a Bridgeport apartment complex has died of his injuries, according to the Connecticut Post.

The 19-year-old suspect in the shooting, in which a second 18-year-old was hit multiple times, was in custody in Waterbury in an unrelated robbery there, police told the Post on Sunday.

Gregory Francilme died at St. Vincent's Medical Center after he was shot at 201 Bretton St. at 1:55 p.m., Police Capt. Brian Fitzgerald told the Post.

A second shooting was treated at St. Vincent’s Hospital and was expected to survive.

It was Bridgeport’s sixth homicide of the year.
