2 Men Robbed Of Cellphones, Assaulted In Danbury; First Arrest Made

DANBURY, Conn. — A Waterbury man who had assaulted two men, sending them to the hospital, and stolen their money and cellphones in Danbury was arrested Friday, police said.

The street robbery occurred at about 4:30 a.m. July 2 on Dr. Aaron B. Samuels Boulevard, police said.

The two adult male victims "sustained significant facial injuries" and were transported to Danbury Hospital, police said. 

They said two males had assaulted them and taken their money and cellphones, police said. 

Through their investigation, the Danbury Police Detective Bureau determined that one of the suspects was Harry Thompson, 42 of Waterbury. On July 7, detectives located and arrested Thompson, who was charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree assault and second-degree larceny. He was held on $100,000 bond. 

The case remains under investigation, police said.
