DANBURY, Conn. — Danbury police busted four people on prostitution and drug charges Thursday after each of the women offered an undercover officer sex in exchange for money, police said.
The investigation began after citizen complaints from many residents in the area between New Street and Beaver Street, police said.
On Thursday, members of the Special Investigations Division and the Community Conditions Unit conducted a prostitution sweep in that three-block area.
During the operation, all four of the women were found roaming area streets, where they would signal to passing cars to advertise their availability, police said.
Each of the four women was arrested after entering the undercover police officer’s car and offering to provide him with sex for money, police said.
Two of the women were also found to be in possession of drugs and/or drug paraphernalia, police said.
All four were transported to the police department, where they were charged and released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
The women arrested and the charges are:
- Teresa Lynch, 25, of 5 Burnett Road, New Milford, charged with prostitution and possession of drug paraphernalia;
- Karen Santoro, 54, of 23 Well Ave., Danbury, charged with prostitution;
- Heather McNally, 28, no current address, charged with prostitution; and
- Jennifer Collins, 34; 22 Foster St., Danbury, charged with charged with prostitution, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.
