59-Year-Old Danbury Man Charged In December Bank Robbery

DANBURY, Conn. -- A 59-year-old Danbury man was arrested on a warrant Monday in connection with a bank robbery on the day after Christmas, Danbury police said.

Danbury Police Detectives arrested Wendell Hovey at 7:30 a.m. Monday on a warrant. He was charged with second-degree robbery and held on $2,500 bond.

Officers responded to a report of a robbery at 3:50 p.m. Dec. 26 to the Savings Bank of Danbury at 59 Newtown Road.

Through their investigation, Danbury police detectives were able to identify a suspect and got an arrest warrant from Danbury Superior Court.
