Thorp was pronounced dead at Norwalk Hospital after she was found pinned by the door of her 2015 Lexus SUV at about 3:40 p.m., police said.

She had gotten out of her SUV for an unknown reason on Camp Street, police said. It then moved forward, hitting a parked vehicle, police said. That forced the car door back toward the vehicle and pinned the woman, police said.

Police are continuing to investigate and awaiting results from the medical examiner.

Police and firefighters attempted to revive at the scene, but she was pronounced dead at Norwalk Hospital, police said.
