Autopsy Done In Death Of Lake Carmel Woman

LAKE CARMEL, N.Y. -- An autopsy was conducted on a Lake Carmel woman who died after being found unconscious near her home, according to Kent Police Chief Alexander W. DiVernieri Jr.

Police said that Karen Goos was found on Barrett Hill Road.

The cause of death 53-year-old Karen Goos, has not been released, but DiVernieri anticipates that police will have a statement regarding the cause.

Police told Daily Voice that Goos' body was found after midnight on Friday on Barrett Hill Road, which is near her home. The discovery came after Goos' mother made a 911 call to report her missing, according to police.

DiVernieri, in an interview, said she was still alive but unconscious when she was found.

Goos was transported to Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel, where she was pronounced dead, according to DiVernieri.
