The Hour cited sources close to the family in identifying the baby girl, whose obituary is at the website for Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory in Stamford.

Connecticut State Police, which took control of the investigation of the girl's death, has not released her identity.

An autopsy was done Friday, but the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said the cause of the baby's death would not be announced pending further tests.

She was rushed to Norwalk Hospital after Norwalk officers responded to the home at 9 Hunters Lane at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday on the report of an unresponsive baby, police said.

When officers arrived, they found that CPR was being done on the baby and they immediately took over life-saving efforts, police said. The baby was transported to Norwalk Hospital, where she later died.

Christine Limone, daughter of Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling, owns the home and runs a daycare center in the basement.

The state Office of Early Childhood has taken "emergency action" and suspended Limone's daycare license.

According to The Hour, Bridgeport attorney Frank J. Riccio II has been retained by Limone, who has not been charged in the baby's death.

The obituary says Corrine was the daughter of Matthew Magda and Jill Cimminello Magda of Norwalk. She died "suddenly" on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Norwalk Hospital. She was born at Greenwich Hospital on June 24 "and in her brief time here touched many lives," her obituary says.

"All that came in contact with Corinne knew her beautiful smile, awesome laugh and sweet cry. Her memory will continue to strengthen our family always."

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, on Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a funeral service to be celebrated at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Corinne’s memory to either JDRF, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004 or directly to the family.

She is also survived by her paternal grandparents, Frank and Carol Magda of Stamford; her maternal grandparents Louis and Deborah Cimminello of Norwalk; her aunts, uncles and cousins: Amy, Ken, Dylan and Riley Bernheim of Wilton, and Brian and Mariam Magda and Allyson Magda of Stamford; her great-aunts and great-uncles: Maria and Bill Myers of Norwalk, Frances Magda of Stamford, Carolyn and David Ettinger of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Robert and Deborah Meno of Knightdale, NC, and James and Angela Cimminello of Norwalk; as well as many other family and friends.

This is the third child to die in a home day care in Fairfield County this year.

A 4-month-old boy from Shelton died in a home day care center in Fairfield in March. The owner of the unlicensed day care is charged with manslaughter in his death, accused of administering a fatal dose of Benadryl, which should not be given to children under the age of 2. She pleaded not guilty last week.

A 2-month-old girl from New Canaan died in a day care center in a home in Stamford in July. She died of blunt force trauma to the head. The owner of that day care center is also charged with manslaughter and pleaded not guilty in August.
