DANBURY, Conn. -- A Bethel man who was rushing his brother to the hospital after he had severed his fingers during a workplace accident, ended up causing a three-car pile-up in Danbury when he attempted to pass another car, according to WLAD.com.

Cody Ramirez, 20, was trying to pass a car on Triangle Street at Wildman Street on Tuesday, when he crashed into a vehicle traveling northbound, causing that car to flip and hit a mailbox, before sending his car into a car waiting to turn left, said WLAD.com.

A 69-year old Danbury woman, whose car flipped, was transported to Danbury Hospital where she was treated and released, added WLAD.com.

Ramirez, who was charged with reckless driving, was under observation at the hospital, said WLAD.com.

His brother, William Ramirez, 24, was also treated and released, added WLAD.com.
