Photos of child pornography were found on a guest's cellphone that had been left behind in a room at LaQunita Inn, 116 Newtown Road, Danbury police said.

The Guest Services Manager had opened the phone in an attempt to identify the owner after a housekeeper found it left behind in a room, police said.

The manager called police when the photos were discovered, police said.

At the same time, Gerardo Vazquez-Gonzalez, 19, of Tulsa, Okla., returned to the hotel stating he had lost a cellular phone, police said.

Officers responded and after speaking with him, he identified the phone as his and subsequently admitted to downloading the child pornography, police said.

Vazquez-Gonzalez was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography and held on $250,000 bond, police said.
