Craig Mourning, 50, of 126 Triangle St., Unit A46, was arrested by officers carrying a search warrant, police said. His alleged customer, a 37-year-old Bethel man, was also arrested, Danbury police said.
At 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Mourning was seized when officers witnessed him selling drugs to Antonio Conti, who had driven into the complex and waited for Mourning to approach his vehicle, police said.
Officers found $40 in Mourning's hand and four packages of heroin in Conti's possession, police said. Both were arrested.
Investigators from the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division then returned to Mourning’s residence, where they executed search warrants and seized assorted illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia, police said.
Investigators had otained court-authorized search-and-seizure warrants for Mourning, his vehicle and his residence, police said. They were issued as a result of an investigation that began weeks earlier in response to complaints that Mourning was selling illegal drugs from his residence and the area surrounding the condominium complex, police said.
Mourning was charged with three counts of possession of narcotics and one count each of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, sale of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $1,000.
Conti, of 88 Dodgingtown Road in Bethel, was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of controlled substance. He was released on a written promise to appear.
