In March, the Danbury Police Department received a compliant that Victor Handal had touched the girl in a sexual manner in 2010. During the investigation, additional information was obtained indicating that Handal had also sent inappropriate text messages to the same girl in 2015, when she was 15 years old, according to Detective Lt. Christian Carroccio.
Following an investigation into the complaints by the Danbury Police Department's Special Victims Unit, an arrest warrant was issued for Handal charging him with risk of injury to a minor and risk of injury to a minor-sexual contact, Carroccio said.
Handal turned himself into the Danbury Police Department on Friday, Sept. 16. He was released from custody after posting $30,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 29.
