About 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, police officers executed a search warrant on Jamel Wiggins, 34, his High Ridge Road residence, and his vehicle.
Members of Danbury police’s Special Investigations Division had been investigating Wiggins for weeks due to multiple complaints that he was selling drugs such as heroin throughout the city, police said.
A Danbury Superior Court judge signed all documents necessary to conduct a legal search, police said.
During the search and seizure process, officers found heroin packed for sale, drug paraphernalia, and an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
Wiggins was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia, and risk of injury to a child.
Bond was set at $1,000 for Wiggins.
