DANBURY, Conn. -- A Danbury man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on multiple drug charges while he was appearing in court for another arrest, police said.
Officers apprehended Timothy Joyner, 29, at about 2 p.m. in Danbury Superior Court and seized his vehicle, which was in the Superior Court parking lot, according to police.
Officers armed with a search-and-seizure warrant searched the vehicle and seized illegal narcotics packaged for sale, police said.
Immediately after Joyner's arrest, members of the SWAT team entered his residence at 44 Padanaram Road, Apartment 1L, without incident and turned over the scene to investigators, according to police.
Officers found and seized drug paraphernalia during the search of the apartment, police said.
The warrants were issued following an investigation that began weeks earlier in response to citizen complaints that Joyner was selling illegal drugs, police said.
Joyner was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, according to police.
His bond was set at $50,000.
