Danbury Man Charged With DWI In New York

DANBURY, Conn. – A Connecticut man was recently arrested for driving while intoxicated in the New York City area, according to the New York State Police.

David D. Meireles, 23, of Danbury, was arrested Sunday and charged with a misdemeanor offense, police said.

Meireles drew the attention of authorities in East Fishkill because he failed to keep his vehicle in the lane, according to police.

Upon further investigation, New York troopers determined that Meireles had a .11 percent blood alcohol level, Town of Southeast Court records show.

Meireles’ next scheduled appearance in the case is Tuesday, according to police.
