Danbury Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting 9-Year-Old Girls

DANBURY, Conn. -- A 37-year-old Danbury man has been charged with assaulting two 9-year-old girls whom he knew, police said.

Juan A. Garcia-Perales was arrested at 3:45 p.m. Saturday by Danbury detectives.

The arrest of Garcia-Perales was the result of a sexual assault investigation conducted by the Danbury Police Special Victims Unit. Allegations were reported on Feb. 12 that Garcia-Perales was sexually abusing two 9-year-old females who were known to him, police said.

The abuse was reported to have taken place between February 2012 and February 2015, police said.

He was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault and five counts of risk of injury to a minor and held on $200,000 bond, police said.
