DANBURY, Conn. -- New York State Police from the Somers barracks arrested Pedro X. Yunga Vivar of Danbury and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a class D felony on Monday.
According to police, troopers were dispatched to investigate a hit-and-run collision that occurred on Interstate 684. Troopers located a vehicle matching the description of the offending vehicle and conducted a traffic stop by Route 22 and Hardscrabble Road in North Salem.
Following an investigation, Yunga Vivar was charged with felony DWI when a criminal history check revealed that he was convicted of two previous DWI related offenses, police said.
Young Vivar had a blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent, more than twice the legal limit and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear before the Town North Salem Justice Court on Dec. 21, police said.
