Danbury Man Held On Shoplifting Charge In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. — A Danbury man was held on $10,000 bond after he loaded items into a Stop & Shop shopping cart and left the Post Road store without paying for them July 2, Westport police said.

Miguel Marrero, 29, of Maple Avenue, was identified recently as the suspect, police said. Store security was able to see the license plate number on the gray Ford the suspect got into after leaving the store, police said.

He was arrested on a warrant Aug. 10 and charged with sixth-degree larceny, police said. He was scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 19.
