Danbury Man Severely Burned After Gas Pump Explosion

DANBURY, Conn. - An explosion at a gas station Friday morning left a 60-year-old man with severe burns over most of his body, Danbury police said.

Police and fire officials were called to the Wheels Gas Station on Tamarack Avenue at about 6:23 a.m. on a report that a man had suffered burns, police said.

The victim, a Danbury resident, had been pumping gas into his car when the explosion occurred, police said.

He was transported to Danbury Hospital to be treated for severe burns over most of his body, police said.
