A trio from Fairfield County was allegedly busted with ecstasy during a routine traffic stop in Carmel, according to Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley, Jr.

Langley announced the arrests of Redding residents Alexander Schvets, 30, Nicole Cannizzaro, 27, and Danbury resident Jonathan Wilson, 33, who were stopped by deputies assigned to the Narcotics Enforcement Unit while driving on Belden Road with an inadequate brake light on Feb. 28.

During the traffic stop, it was determined that the three were in possession of MDMA, a controlled substance. They were subsequently arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

Following arraignment, the three were released on $100 bail. They are due back in Carmel Justice Court later this month to answer the charges.
