DANBURY, Conn. — Two Danbury residents were charged Tuesday with selling drugs from an apartment where there were young children, according to the Danbury Police Department.

About 2:50 p.m., Special Investigations Division detectives and police officers executed a search-and-seize warrant for the apartment at 1 Arch St., Apt. C, Danbury, said police.

The warrant stemmed from a monthlong investigation into alleged drug sales out of the residence, as well as around the city of Danbury by Roy Romero, 29, according to police.

Upon execution of the search warrant at the residence, investigators allegedly recovered marijuana, packaging material and a substantial amount of cash, said police.

Three young children were reportedly found in the residence, as well, according to police.

Romero was charged with three counts of risk of injury to a minor, possession of a controlled substance over one-half ounce, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Romero was released after posting $2,500 bond, according to police.

Betzabet Sanchez, 25, was processed and charged with three counts of risk of injury to a minor, possession of a controlled substance over one-half ounce, possession of a controlled substance within 1500 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia within 1500 feet of a school, said police.

Sanchez was released on a written promise to appear, according to police.
