The first report of an armed robbery came from Michael's Jewelers at 132 Federal Road in a 911 call at 10:31 a.m., police said.
Officers determined that three males entered the store, all wearing nylon stockings over their faces, police said. One male displayed a dark-colored handgun, police said.
The robbers bound the hands of the three female employees, police said. The suspects stole an undetermined amount of jewelry, police said. An ambulance was summoned as a precaution for one of the employees, police said.
The Detective Bureau asks anyone who was in the area between 10:20 and 10:40 a.m. and may have seen something to call detectives at 203-797-4662.
At 11:35 a.m., police received 911 calls from Webster Bank at 105 Mill Plain Road about a robbery.
Two male suspects wearing masks and dark-colored hoodies entered the bank and tied up the employees, police said. The suspects took off with an undetermined amount of cash. No weapon was displayed, and no one was injured, police said.
Anyone who was in the area between 10:15 and 11:45 a.m. and may have seen something is asked to call the Detective Bureau at 203-797-4662.
