Danbury Police Seek Suspect In Robbery Of Union Savings Bank

DANBURY, Conn. -- Union Savings Bank in Danbury was robbed Wednesday afternoon by a man claiming to have a weapon, according to police.

Officers responded to the bank at 126 North St. at around 3 p.m. Wednesday on a reported robbery. A suspect described as a white male, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a husky build and wearing a blue hoodie and blue pants. He handed a note to a teller, stating that he had a weapon. Police said that no weapon was displayed and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

The man was last seen on Hayestown Avenue near the North Street Shopping Center, heading toward Tamarack Avenue, police said.
