DANBURY, Conn. — A man who barricaded himself in a Southbury hotel and committed suicide has been identified as a Danbury police sergeant, according to WLAD-AM.

State Police, including the Tactical Unit, responded with the Southbury Police to the Wyndham Hotel at about 12:30 p.m. on a report of a suicidal man, WLAD said.

The man, 38-year old Drew Carlson, a guest of the hotel, was pronounced dead at the scene with a self-inflicted injury, WLAD reported.

Carlson was a sergeant who began his career with the Danbury Police Department in April 2004, WLAD said.
