Danbury Teen Charged With Possession Of Ecstasy After Police Break Up Group

DANBURY, Conn. - A man was charged with possession of ecstasy after Danbury police broke up a group of people who were smoking marijuana in the back parking lot at 345 Main St. on Tuesday morning, police said.

Officers from the Community Conditions Unit were called to the area at 11 a.m. on a report of a group of people smoking marijuana, police said. When officers arrived, the group fled on foot, police said.

After a brief search and with the help of a passing driver, officers found the group in a nearby house, police said. 

While the officers were speaking with the group, one man attempted to flee by pushing out a window air-conditioning unit and jumping through the window, police said.

He then fled on foot behind houses on Maple Avenue, police said. 

A short time later, officers apprehended the man, who was identified as Christopher Marcos, 18, of Danbury. Officers searched his backpack and found a substantial amount of marijuana, U.S. cash and several pills of Ecstasy, police said. 

Marcos was charged with possession of a controlled substance over 4 ounces, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, three counts of possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school, three counts of possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a hallucinogenic substance - ecstasy, and interfering with the duties of a police officer. 

He was released on $5,000 bond. No court date was given by police.
