Driver Dies Of Injuries From Crash Into Trees In Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. — A 26-year-old Danbury man died Friday in Danbury Hospital, two days after he crashed his car into a stand of trees in Danbury, the Danbury News-Times reported.

Late Wednesday night, Joseph E. Neumuller, of 15 High Rise Road, was traveling west on Stadley Rough Road, went his gray Toyota Corolla went off the right side of the roadway and hit a cluster of trees, police said.

The accident occurred just north of the intersection of Stadley Rough and Forty Acre Mountain Road at 10:42 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, police said.

Neumuller, who was the only occupant in the car, was unconscious at the scene, police said. He was removed from the wreckage and transported to Danbury Hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. He died of his injuries Friday.

Danbury police had reported Thursday that Neumuller had died, then retracted the report, saying he was on life support.
