DANBURY, Conn. — Danbury firefighters freed an injured driver who was trapped in the car after a rollover crash at 7:15 a.m. Thursday on Ball Pond Road.

The Danbury Fire Department along with Danbury Police and Western Connecticut Health Network EMS were dispatched to the accident in the area of Ball Pond Road and Pondcrest Road.

Fire Marshal Tyler Bergemann was in the area of the crash and reported that the occupant was still in the vehicle. He advised firefighters that the windshield would need to be removed from the car in order to remove the occupant from the wreckage.

Engine 25, along with the remaining units, arrived on the scene and quickly removed the occupant, who was then transported to Danbury Hospital.

Ball Pond Road was opened shortly after the ambulance transported the patient.

No further information was released on the cause of the crash or the condition of the driver.
