Five Injured When Car Slams Into Tree In Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. -- Five Danbury residents sustained serious injuries during a car accident on Friday when the driver lost control of the car and hit a tree, according to the Danbury Police Department.

The 22-year-old driver of a 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit was traveling on Brushy Hill Road at a high rate of speed when he entered a curve and lost control of the vehicle and hit the tree, said the Danbury Police.

The driver and his passengers sustained serious physical injuries from the collision, including a 20-year-old and three juveniles. All five individuals were transported to Danbury Hospital, police said.

The accident is being investigated by the Danbury Police Traffic Division. Witnesses are asked to contact Sgt. Rory DeRocco 203-797-2157
