DANBURY, Conn. – Four people were arrested Feb. 14 after two fights broke out during a lunch/recess break at the Academic Center for Excellence, Danbury's alternative high school, police said.
The first fight erupted during a basketball game with a juvenile and 18-year-old Elvis Novas, of Danbury, exchanging punches, police said. Teachers separated the two, police said. As they were escorting them back into the building, a second fight occurred between 18-year-old Vincent Dibenedetto, of Danbury, and 19-year-old Richard Allen, also of Danbury.
Dibenedetto, Allen and Novas were each charged with breach of peace and all are scheduled to appear in court Feb. 28. The juvenile was taken to police headquarters, given a juvenile summons and released to his mother, police said.
