Baby Natalie is now 1 month old, but Officers Eric Birdseye and Devin Quintard have known her since Day 1.
Just over a month ago, on Feb. 12, the Brookfield Dispatch Center received a 911 call from an address in town.
When the caller reported that his wife had just gone into labor, Brookfield EMS was quickly dispatched. Brookfield Police Officers respond to all medical calls, so Birdseye and Quintard were also sent to assist.
The two officers arrived on the scene first and began administering care to the very-soon-to-be mother and father.
But it quickly became apparent that this baby was simply not going to wait for the arrival of Brookfield EMS and paramedics.
Birdseye and Quintard kept dad calm, mom reassured, and delivered little Natalie at 4:34 a.m.
Upon the arrival of Brookfield EMS, Natalie was handed over to the paramedics for care.
"Mom and baby were transported to the hospital and are doing great," Brookfield Police said on Facebook. "Congratulations Mom and Dad."
