Man Charged With Threatening Bethel Bar Patrons With A Gun

BETHEL, Conn. -- Bethel Police charged a man with threatening bar patrons at gunpoint early Thursday, according to the News Times.

Matthew Vance, 21, of Bethlehem, was intoxicated at the Meeting House Pub on Route 6, the News Times said. After he was cut off by bartenders, Vance threatened other customers and waitstaff by putting his hand on his firearm, and also unholstered his gun and pointed it in the air, the News Times reported.

Vance, who has a legal permit for the gun, was charged with illegally carrying a firearm while under the influence, reckless endangerment and breach of peace, News Times said.
