Man Shot, Elderly Woman Assaulted In Danbury Home Invasion

DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury police are investigating an armed home invasion during which a man was shot and an elderly woman was assaulted on Saturday, Nov. 29, according to police officials.

Two males wearing ski masks broke into the Irving Place residence at 11:43 p.m., shot a 25-year-old man in the leg, then tied up a 70-year-old woman before assaulting her, police said. 

After tying up the male victim, the two suspects fled the scene, police said. When officers arrived, they found both victims tied up. 

Both victims were hospitalized as a result of their injuries, police said. The woman was subsequently released, police said.
