Monroe Police Searching For Two Suspects In Bank Robbery

MONROE, Conn. — Monroe police were searching for two suspects after the Newtown Savings Bank on Main Street/Route 25 was robbed Friday morning.

"There will be a noticeable police presence in the area," Monroe police said at 11:35 a.m. Friday on Twitter.

A bank robbery suspect was described as a black man wearing all dark clothing and a baseball hat, police said.

He was a passenger in a newer model four-door gray Honda Civic, police said. He was picked up by a white female driving the Honda after the bank robbery and left the scene, police said.
