Motorcycle Crashes Into Dump Truck In Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. -- A Fairfield man was seriously injured early Friday when his motorcycle collided with a garbage truck on White Street in Danbury, according to the Danbury Police Department.

Danbury police said Eric Gasner was transported to Danbury Hospital for injuries sustained in the collision.

Eric Ganser, 45, was traveling westbound on White Street on his 2006 Harley Davidson behind a large tractor-trailer driven by Sean Scozzafava, 40, of New Milford, said Danbury police.

Scazzafava who was driving a 2005 Mack truck, owned by Winter Brothers Waste Systems, was turning left from White Street into the entrance of Winter Brothers Waste Systems, when he struck Ganser, police said.

Gasner was transported to Danbury Hospital for injuries sustained in the collision.

The accident is under investigation by the Danbury Police Department’s Traffic Division. Anyone who witnessed the collision, is asked to contact Sgt. Rory DeRocco or Officer Keith Leggiadro at 203-797-2157.
