The Brookfield Police Department issued an alert this week after receiving multiple reports of thefts from unlocked vehicles throughout the town over the past few days. The thefts come on the heels of two cars being stolen in nearby Newtown.

Investigators noted that the break-ins have not been limited to any one section of the town, and it has been prevalent throughout Brookfield.

“We would like to strongly urge all residents to take all valuables inside your home at night and to lock up your vehicles,” police said. “Do not leave your vehicles unlocked.”

Anyone with information regarding the recent spate of stolen items out of unlocked cars has been asked to contact investigators at the Brookfield Police Department by calling (203) 775-2575.
