Bethel officers were called to a private residence on Benson Road on a report of a suspicious vehicle at 3:30 a.m. Jan. 1, police said.

When officers arrived, the resident said that an unknown male was passed out in a running car, parked in their driveway, police said.

Officers spoke with the driver, identified as Michael Chevalier, 24, of 143 Head of Meadow Road, and conducted field sobriety tests, police said.

Chevalier was subsequently arrested on charges of driving under the influence. He was released on bond pending a court date later this month.
