Norwalk Man, 25, Sent Death Threats Via Text, New Canaan Police Say

NEW CANAAN, Conn. — A 25-year-old Norwalk man who sent text messages threatening "harm and death" to a victim was arrested Friday evening, New Canaan police said.

The victim went to New Canaan police headquarters at 5:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, and showed officers threatening text messages from Kyle Cichowicz, police said. 

Police described the multiple text messages as "stating harm and death to the victim and family members of the victim," according to a police statement.  

Norwalk officers were able to locate Cichowicz at his home at 140 Wolfpit Ave. in Norwalk on Friday evening and detained him for New Canaan officers, police said. 

New Canaan officer took Cichowicz into custody at the Norwalk Police Headquarters and transported him to New Canaan for processing, police said.  

Cichowicz was charged with second-degree threatening. He was held on $100,000 bond for an Aug. 14 court appearance.
