Norwalk Man Charged In Armed Robbery In Denny's Parking Lot

NORWALK, Conn. — A Norwalk man was arrested in connection with an armed robbery in the parking lot of a Denny's Restaurant in Westbrook, and state police were searching for an accomplice, police said.

The robbery was reported at 11:21 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, in the restaurant at 28 Flat Rock Place in Westbrook, police said. Troopers from Troop F in Westbrook responded.

Two suspects fled the scene in a car and were located at the I-95 southbound rest area in Madison a short time later, state police said.

One suspect fled on foot while a second suspect fled in a vehicle, state police said. 

The suspect who ran from the scene, later identified as Shadrach Ferguson, 23, of Norwalk, was found and about an hour later in a wooded area behind the rest area and taken into custody, state police said.

Ferguson was charged with interfering with an officer and was held on $10,000 surety bond. He was set to appear in court Oct. 26 in Middletown.

State Police Troop F was assisted by personnel from Troop E, Troop A, the CSP Aviation Unit and officers from the Clinton, Guilford and Madison Police Departments.
