On Saturday, members of the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division were conducting a surveillance of Jason Allan Perez of 70 Town Hill Ave., police said.
Perez was stopped on Main Street after entering a car, police said. He was seized and held until investigators could proceed to his home, police said.
Officers armed with search-and-seizure warrants for Perez, his cellphone and his residence, went to the Town Hill Avenue address. When the residence was searched, officers found "a substantial quantity of illegal drugs," including Xanax pills, cocaine and marijuana, police said.
Perez was placed under arrest and transported to the Danbury Police Department.
He was charged with possession of narcotics, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, three counts of possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a prohibited place, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a prohibited place, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of drug paraphernalia within 1,500 feet of a prohibited place.
He was held on $50,000 bond.
The warrants were issued after an investigation into complaints that Perez was selling illegal drugs from his residence and other locations in the Danbury area, police said. Based on surveillance and other investigation, officers determined that Perez’s activity was consistent with drug trafficking, police said. As a result, search-and-seizure warrants were issued by the Superior Court.
