The charges stem from a burglary that took place on June 15. Police said that Emmanuel Modey of Bridgeport took a taxi from Bridgeport to a home on Pheasant Run Road in Wilton, where he committed a burglary. He stole four cell phones, worth a total of $2,119.06, according to police.

After Modey committed the burglary, the taxi dropped him off at the South Norwalk train station, according to police. He was identified as a suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Modey was arrested while appearing at Norwalk Superior Court on Thursday, Sept. 14. He was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny, and held on a $50,000 bond.
