Red Cross Helps Five Danbury Families With Housing, Food After Fire

DANBURY, Conn. -- The American Red Cross has stepped in to assist the five families who were displaced after a fire on Triangle Street in Danbury on Thursday, Dec. 26.

The Red Cross is providing emergency housing, food and comfort kits, which include toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items the families may not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

The blaze broke out at about 8:30 p.m. of the Lions Condominiums. No injuries were reported, but officials say at least six of the units in the building are uninhabitable, according to newstimes.com

The fire marshal was investigating the cause of the blaze in a laundry room, the newstimes.com said. Read the full story here
