Ridgefield Holds Annual Safety Day This Weekend

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield will host its annual Safety Day this Sunday at East Ridge Middle School featuring a the Eagle One Helicopter, a K-9 demonstration, crash simulators and safety information.

The event is hosted by the Ridgefield Police Benevolent Association, the Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department and the Ridgefield Professional Firefighters Association. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot at the middle school, 10 East Ridge Road. The event is family oriented and admission is free.

Among the highlights of the event will be a K-9 demonstration by Officer Murray and K-9 Loki at 11 a.m., and at 12:15 p.m. the Eagle One Helicopter will land on the ball field for a demonstration.

There will also be a child car seat inspection and installation station, with no appointment necessary, a fire safety trailer, fire and police vehicles on display throughout the event, and crash simulators.

There will also be a variety of information tables featuring R.V.N.A, Lyme Connection, Ridgefield Prevention Council, Ridgefield Police Benevolent Association, Ridgefield Fire Department, C.E.R.T (Community Emergency Response Team), Gun Safety, CT S.A.R.T (State Animal Response Team), and more.

In the event of foul weather, the Safety Day will be canceled. Information on the cancelation will be posted on the Ridgefield Police Department's Facebook page, if needed.
