The motorcyclist's name was not released by the state police.
The State Police identified the driver of the car as 21-year-old New Fairfield resident Alyssa Rabuse.
The person killed was driving a Connecticut-licensed Kawasaki motorcycle.
The accident was on Thursday afternoon, on Route 39, near the intersection with Old Short Woods Road, and it tied up traffic for hours, as the Daily Voice reported on Thursday.
In the accident report, Trooper Jamie Olsowy notes that the motorcyclist was traveling northbound, crossed the center line, and was struck by the car.
Both Rabuse and the motorcyclist were taken to Danbury Hospital: she had minor injuries, and the other was pronounced dead.
The report notes that Rabuse had been wearing her seat belt, and that the airbags had deployed. Both vehicles had moderate damage and were towed from the scene.
