The 1,472-square-foot barn was located at 986 South Ave. on a property with a house built in 1790, according to the Advertiser.

Blowing embers sparked small fires on three neighboring structures and in nearby brush and woods, the Advertiser said.

Firefighters from Darien, Norwalk, Vista, Pound Ridge, and Wilton helped at the scene, the New Canaan Advertiser said.

No injuries were reported in the large blaze, which is under investigation.
