DANBURY, Conn. – Police were called to the Microsoft Store at the Danbury Fair mall after employees reported two people were attempting to steal merchandise, police said.

Police arrested 54-year-old Lorenzo Adams and 34-year-old Stacy Rossman, both of Newburgh, N.Y., after employees identified the two, Detective Lt. Tom Michael said.

The two also were caught on security cameras removing items from shelves, placing them into shopping bags and leaving the store without paying, police said. When police attempted to handcuff Adams, he became combative and resisted arrest. He was also found to be in possession of wire cutters, police said.

Police searched Adams’ car and found stolen merchandise from the Microsoft Store, as well as from L.L. Bean, along with a shopping bag lined with aluminum foil, which is commonly used to deflect security sensors, police said.

Adams was charged with fifth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny, two counts of possession of a shoplifting device, interfering/resisting arrest and refusal to be processed, police said. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.

Rossman was charged with fifth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny and possession of a shoplifting device, and held on a $10,000 bond, police said.
