Officers with the Special Investigations Division executed a search warrant after watching suspected drug sales in the parking lot of a local hotel, police said.
The two men arrested were Yochanan Levitansky, 28, of 256 Crescent St., New Haven, and Miguel Blanchette, 28, of 4 Westwood Terrace, Danbury.
On Sept. 2, members of the Special Investigations Division obtained a court-authorized search warrant for Levitansky, who has been the subject of a narcotics investigation for several months, police said.
After learning how Levitansky operated, S.I.D. investigators tracked him to a local hotel where a surveillance was conducted Wednesday, police said.
During the surveillance, Levitansky was seen engaging in several suspected narcotic sales before investigators moved in and apprehended him, police said.
Levitansky and Melendez, who were found in a hotel room, were found to be in possession of a substantial amount of cash as well as heroin and crack cocaine packaged for sale, police said.
Both were arrested and transported to the Danbury Police Department.
Levitansky was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, sale of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell. He was held on $100,000 bond.
Blanchette faces the same charges and was held on $20,000 bond.
