WestConn Police To Host Stuff-a-cruiser Event This Weekend

DANBURY, Conn. – Santa will have help delivering toys this year in Danbury from the Western Connecticut State University police department, which is hosting two holiday charity events this month.

The department will host a Stuff-A-Cruiser event Saturday and Sunday, as well as a toy drive that runs from Dec. 6 to Dec. 20, according to a press release. 

“The true spirit of the holiday season is helping those in need. The WCSU community as a whole understands that statement and demonstrates it on a daily basis,” Sgt. Richard Montefusco said. “The time of the year is upon us to give thanks and help those who are in need.”

The Stuff-A-Crusier event will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in front of Walmart on Newtown Road in Danbury. The public is encouraged join the department in filling an entire police cruiser with donated items. The toy drive will benefit the Danbury office of the Connecticut Department of Children and Families. The police department will accept toys, as well as winter clothing for children, babies and teenagers.

Toy donations can be dropped off at any time at the WestConn Police Dispatch Center at 181 White St. in Danbury, or from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the Parking Office, Room 247D, in the Westside Classroom Building at WestConn’s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave., Danbury.
