Weston Man Injured Trying To Stop Fight At Danbury Mall

DANBURY, Conn. – A Weston man was injured at the Danbury Fair mall Monday while trying to stop an argument between a New Fairfield man and his girlfriend, police said.

Police arrested 20-year-old Cody Rugar, of New Fairfield, and charged him with third-degree assault in the incident.

The Weston man said Rugar and the woman were arguing when Rugar grabbed her to stop her from walking away, police said. The Weston man attempted to intervene and sustained facial injuries during the struggle, police said.

Rugar sustained a hand injury and was released on $2,500 bond with a March 5 court date.
