Police responded to the Dunkin' Donuts on Danbury Road just before 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3 on a report of an active assault. When officers arrived, they learned that 47-year-old Dalia Ayala of the Bronx had gotten into a verbal altercation with another woman, according to police.

Police said that Ayala then proceeded to throw the hot tea at the woman, but just hit her jacket. Ayala did not dispute the account of what happened, police said. She was charged with third-degree assault and breach of peace, and released on a promise to appear in court on Dec. 13.
