Danbury Voters Head To The Polls

DANBURY, Conn. -- Polls are open Tuesday for Danbury voters to cast their ballots in local, state and federal races.

Danbury's polling places will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The polling places for the city are listed below:

  • Ward 1: Danbury High School Gym, 43 Clapboard Ridge Road, use Beckerle Street. 
  • Ward 2: Pembroke School Gym, 34 Pembroke Road (Route 37) 
  • Ward 3: Stadley Rough School Gym, 25 Karen Road 
  • Ward 4: Shelter Rock School Gym, 2 Crows Nest Lane 
  • Ward 5: Danbury War Memorial Gym, Memorial Drive 
  • Ward 6: Park Avenue School Gym, 82 Park Ave.
  • Ward 7: Westside Middle School Academy, 1 School Ridge Road

Danbury voters will choose between candidates in a number of races for the State House of Representatives as well as decide between Tom Foley and Dannel Malloy for governor, and between Elizabeth Esty and Mark Greenberg for U.S. representative.

A $20 million spending and bond package for road and other improvements is also on the Danbury ballot.

If you are not registered to vote, you can do so on Election Day by bringing a valid I.D. and a current proof of Danbury residency to City Hall. Election Day registration is not available at polling places.

All Danbury schools are closed on Election Day.
